Happy birthday to my sweet niece, Alyssa. She turned eight this week. I don't see her often enough and neither do my kids. My son still says his cousins are his best friends even though their time together doesn't seem to be enough by the end of our visit. He likes playing in their bedroom even though they lock him out at times and even though it is filled with everything pink and girly. I think he is impressed by their bunk beds. Today they introduced my daughter to new dolls and barbies then wrestled for an hour with Uncle Josh. We get their hand-me-down clothes for my daughter and she is just fitting into the first set they gave us. I remember when Alyssa was born. She didn't have any hair for a long time and she had big beautiful eyes. Now she has flowing dark hair that fits her perfectly. God couldn't have made her prettier. She excels in reading and in fact she is a "reading wiz" says her Dad. For her birthday she shared two poems to her class and sang one of them. Her best friends are Amira and Keegan. Her younger sister is very close to her in age. They do everything together although their personalities seem very different.
I love sharing these words and this set of images the day she celebrated her eight birthday. I will be adding this post to my personal posts I love section, it is one of my favorites.
