The beach is one of our family destinations that we all enjoy. This trip has been asked about for quite some time. The time line for a three year old is quite variable. Next month seems like tomorrow and all the sudden he is ready to go to the beach. Not the coast...but the beach. But last weekend we finally went. Kyle and I personally like the solitude of smaller beach towns and often will go during the weekdays to make it even more relaxing. One of our favorite towns is Yachats. There is this small Italian restaurant that makes the most amazing pizza....ever! We have compromised now that we have kids and have been gravitating to Newport. If you have never been to Local Ocean to eat, you must. When we went Sunday, it was ONLY a two hour wait to eat and unfortunately we had to pass as our belly's couldn't make it that long. Instead we ate somewhere else and stopped at our favorite candy store for caramel corn and dinosaur gummies followed by our favorite coffee. Eventually we made it to the beach. It was overcast and wonderful. Normally I enjoy the sun but I would take an overcast day at the beach almost anytime. The looming clouds warned us it would start to rain at sometime and thankfully it didn't till the end of our day. Here are some of my favorite images from our time together.
